The first-ever BMW M2 has had quite a reputation to live up to. The last model that occupied its niche was the fabled 1M coupe, which most have figured was unbeatable. While the M2 could never match such a legendary model, it more than holds its own as senior editor from Motortrend, Jason Cammisa recently found out.
To test the M2's mettle, Cammisa took the car on both the track, where it faced off against the already-legendary M4, and on the road. The former test was particularly pulse-pounding, with a well-known race driver behind the wheel. Although the M2 driven by Cammisa lost the first test, the M2 is technically a few milliseconds faster than its sibling.
