The BMW Concept X2 made its world-premiere in Paris last fall and has finally arrived on American soil, debuting this month at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Concept X2 is tough, distinctive and definitely sporty, imparting a sense of energy even when its sitting still.
The familiar front apron, large center air intake and signature kidney grille leave no doubt that this is a BMW. However, an elongated Hofmeister kink begins much farther forward than usual and creates a taper that draws the eye to the blue-and-white BMW roundels on the C-pillars.
It’s the new elements that distinguish the Concept X2, including ultra-thin headlights that feature an “X” in them to the athletic, assertive roofline that continues all the way to the back, rather than slanting down. Featuring the silhouette of a coupe and the powerful X appearance, this lively vehicle is designed for utter driving pleasure.
BMW will be launching the X2 in 2018.
